Madiran Art Club, Le Prielle, Madiran.

Artists of all levels are very welcome.
We meet every Tuesday afternoon from 2-4.30pm at Le Prielle, located in the middle of the Madiran vines.
The club is bilingual: English – French.
Please fell free to visit us, if you wish to .

We work in a friendly atmosphere (tea and coffee included).
Using all types of medium charcoal, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, oils throughout the year, we try to develop your own personal style.
We also try to introduce you to new mediums, be it drawing, painting, printing or glasswork and new techniques.
Materials are provided in the price, but you can also bring along your own favourites.

We participate in the Christmas markets at Marciac, Plaisance and Maubourguet and try to hold an exhibition every year.
Our work is on display locally at bars, restaurants and medical centres.

Visiting artists are invited to hold a day’s course with the group (this included with the membership price).

U
n endroit retiré au calme dans une ferme restaurée avec des gîtes, un lieu paisible entouré de vignes qui accueille l'atelier de peinture de Paulette Appleby, c'est «Art Club du Madiran»
Ils étaient une dizaine en ce mardi, studieux devant la présentation des nouvelles techniques notamment la linogravure.
Georges Cassagne, nouveau en ce jour la «je suis heureux de participer et de découvrir».
L'atelier fonctionne avec des cours d'aquarelle, de pastel, acrylique, huile, histoire de l'art, des voyages et des visits aux gallaries.
Du côté des nouveautés avec la linogravure, Paulette développe la création de vitrail et aussi la fabrique de papier.
Vous pouvez rejoindre le groupe tous les mardis de 14h à 16h30.
L'atelier reçoit aussi des interventions d'artistes et participe à des manifestations locales. Il a d'ailleurs participé a la Fête de l'épouvantail et a reçu des prix.
Et en plus tous les adherents ont vendu plusiers tableaux!

adiran Art Club
In 2009 I started an Art club in Madiran, South West France.
I run weekly classes & residential courses. We have covered many varied topics, as well as painting & drawing in various medium.
Paper making in 2009, a stained glass project in 2010, a linograph project in 2012, oils on wood in 2013 follwed by abstract constructions. We are currently completing a study of the artist Paul Cezanne followed by a trip to see his works in London during 2015, including a talk at the Courtaulds Institute and a viewing of his works that are not on display at Tate Britain.
Each term we invite other artists to come along for a day & share their experiences with us.
We have covered 2 days of pastels with Anthony Oliver & a group from Tarbes, 2 days with the cartoonist Perry Taylor looking at drawing freely, 2 days with the artist Ruth Hartley looking at colour mixing & touching on abstract works, a day with Ben Brotherton looking at light & shade and several days Wiz Shayler looking at drawing techniques.
